The Rave Reviews Book Club is an online book club of over 500 independent authors and readers. One of the programs sponsored by the book club is honoring an author as the SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR for one week. Part of that program is a blog tour featuring the honored author on several blog sites. I am participating as a blog tour host this week, for the first time. Welcome to this weeks honored author, John Priest.
SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR BLOG TOUR: guest author John Priest
I’ve been a children’s author since 1985, with books traditionally and independently published. Two years ago I published the first book in a series called Jay-Pea-Eyes aka Junior Private Investigators in The Boomerang Mystery. The four young detectives were such great fun to write about that I made certain their second adventure would be fun too. When I start any new project, I let the idea bounce around in my head for a week or so. I don’t write anything down until a lot of the story has been formed in my head. I then sit in my office and take out a fountain pen and a nice new A4 sized note book and start writing. I write down everything I have in my head and then start my planning and structure of the story, jotting down brief descriptions of the characters. Once I’m happy I will then transfer everything to computer. I know we all have different methods of working but this method works well for me because it’s so relaxing. The Curse of Sea Shell Cave is the second book in the series for the Jay-Pea-Eyes aka Junior Private Investigators, a detective/whodunit for children. Inside you will find the Jay-Pea-Eyes searching for clues to solve another mystery. It’s available in paperback and various e-book formats.

A lot of writers prefer to get their story down using pen and paper. I use pen and paper to make brief notes, but I do most of my writing on my computer because it makes it easy to move and change things. I hope you enjoyed your Spotlight week, John. Thanks for hosting, Kenneth.
